ACER Style Scholarship Tests – Primary
This information is relevant only to students currently in years 4 or 5

 Reading and Viewing 

The Reading and Viewing test provides a single measure of achievement reflecting
comprehension and interpretation of written and visual material from a range of
curriculum areas. Candidates read several short passages and answered 25 multiple-choice questions.
Candidates are given 30 minutes to complete this section.

Mathematics 

Candidates apply mathematical skills and knowledge to answer problems. They also do
short calculations in each of the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication,
division). The test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions.
Candidates are given 30 minutes to complete this section.

Writing

Candidates write two short pieces in different genres in response to two separate
prompts.
